[Samba] Samba 4.14 upgrade schema to 2012_R2 error
But in this new version (4.14.8) will it be possible to upgrade the domain level to 2012_R2? If so, is there any procedure or will just the execution of the already known commands be enough? It should, but this is what i currently get. ? logged in on DC0 (FMSO master) samba-tool domain level show Here i get : Forest function level: (Windows) 2008 R2 Domain function level: (Windows) 2008 R2 Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2008 R2 ? samba-tool domain functionalprep --function-level=2012_R2 no errors samba-tool domain level raise no errors ? ldbsearch -H $(smbd -b|grep private|awk '{ print $NF }')/sam.ldb -b cn=Schema,cn=Configuration,dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f1)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f2)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f3)" -s base objectVersion i get 69 and Windows Server 2012R2=69 ? samba-tool domain level show and i get Forest function level: (Windows) 2008 R2 Domain function level: (Windows) 2008 R2 Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2008 R2 ? logged in on DC1 samba-tool domain level raise All changes applied successfully! ldbsearch -H $(smbd -b|grep private|awk '{ print $NF }')/sam.ldb -b cn=Schema,cn=Configuration,dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f1)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f2)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f3)" -s base objectVersion gives : 69 ? logged in on DC2 samba-tool domain level raise All changes applied successfully! ? ldbsearch -H $(smbd -b|grep private|awk '{ print $NF }')/sam.ldb -b cn=Schema,cn=Configuration,dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f1)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f2)",dc="$(hostname -d | cut -d. -f3)" -s base objectVersion gives : 69 ? So all 3 AD-DC's are now? functionalpreped for function-level=2012_R2 ? Logged in again on DC0 (FSMO) ? samba-tool domain level --forest-level=2012_R2 raise ERROR: Forest function level can't be higher than the domain function level(s). Please raise it/them first! ? samba-tool domain level --domain-level=2012_R2 raise ERROR: Domain function level can't be higher than the lowest function level of a DC! ? rebooted all servers. checked again, same results. ? Now i might be hitting an old bug since my AD exists since 4.1.x Not sure on that, if i have the time today i'll have a look at this. Or.. maybe Rowland knows ;-)? Greetz, Louis ?
