samba - Aug 2021 - File server fails to start

Hi,


I am trying to set up a Samba file server and join it to a Samba AD. The file
server and DC are both running Ubuntu 20.4 and Samba version 4.14.6.

I?m using instructions from the samba wiki.

DNS appears to work, as far  as I can tell. Samba-tool domain join was
successful.

But I cannot start any of the Samba services.

It might have seemed successful, but it was the wrong command :-)

You should have used 'net ads join -U Administrator'

I do not know exactly what you have now, but it isn't a Unix domain
member.
