This guide, https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Rsync_based_SysVol_replication_workaround, demonstrates sysvol replication using a rsync PULL. Is there a reason why a PUSH directly onto the /var/lib/samba/sysvol is a bad idea? I have spend the better part of an hour setting up the PULL, but the ?secrets file? causes endless problems (password mismatch although they are cut-n-paste). When finally got the secrets file right, another issue came up Feb 15 18:12:42 AD2 rsyncd[1612]: connect from AD1.hoganas-platslagaren.se (10.0.2.50) Feb 15 18:12:42 AD2 rsyncd[1612]: rsync to SysVol/ from root at AD1.hoganas-platslagaren.se (10.0.2.50) Feb 15 18:12:42 AD2 rsyncd[1612]: ERROR: module is read only Needless to say, the Sysvol share on AD2 is declared as ?read only = no" Reverting to an rsync push with ssh certs works fine though? But there maybe a catch that I don?t see. /Anders Anders ?stling D?mmegatan 11 SE-25442 Helsingborg Sweden Phone: +46 768 716 165 Skype: anders.ostling at outlook.com
