Hello I'm trying to enable SMB in Windows 7 and 10 but it was unsuccessful. There are lots of tutorials that tell to execute set/get properties by command line, to edit registers with regedit, to set options in the control panel, but it does not work. I can ping the Linux hosts from Windows, see the own Windows shares but not the samba shares. I have a couple doubts: - Should I enable SMB1, SMB2, SMB3 (or all of them) in Windows 7/10? - Should I explicitly specify the SMB (1/2/3) protocol in the smb.conf file? Which one is the correct and which one is used by default if not specified? - Do you think it may be related to a network configuration or a firewall? - Can you recommend me a tutorial (that works) to enable SMB on Windows 7 and 10? I already had it working on my running Windows XP, 7 and 10 using VirtualBox, the configuration was unclean after too many tries and changes to the systems so decided to start brand new installations but now I can't make it work again 8( hahahahaha There are 2 physical hosts (Debian 10) and 6 virtual Windows hosts (XP, 7, 10 on VirtualBox)... There are 10 Samba shares on the physical hosts and I want to access all of them from Linux and Windows... As I said, it was working but after reinstall clean Windows systems I could not make Samba work again and don't remember how the hell I did the working configurations XD Thanks for your help
