samba - Dec 2020 - CTDB public_addresses and EC2 ENI

*Question: *Is it even possible to set up public_addresses in EC2?

When I create an ENI and attach it to the instance, the act of creation of
the ENI requires an IP assigned statically. After that I create an ELB over
the address range with port 445.

When I set up the public_addresses file with a known set of unused
addresses I get errors such as the following:

Assigned IP 10.11.24.103 not on an interface


Has anyone gotten this working on EC2? If so, how were you able to get it
working?

Do you have other options if you can't get this working?

I wondered about LVS instead of public IP addresses (VIPs).  However,
it still required 1 extra IP address that can be manipulated.
