[Samba] Error Removing Samba Server from Domain

hmm,

Well based on what i see, that error comes at the end of this process, so
strange it errors out.
Beside that your output looks good. 
?
You can try to install these, if its python problem
Run samba-toold drs showrepl? after every install, that helps in detecting which
package you might miss.

[Samba] Error Removing Samba Server from Domain

Hi,

Is the problem because of the Samba version?

Since my Windows server is 2008 and was having trouble joining the Samba
4.10 on domain , I chose to install Samba from the very old Debian 9
repository (apt-get).

Now that Samba is in the domain I want to upgrade to 4.10.

Is there a problem updating Debian 4-5-16 from the Van Belle repository (
http://apt.van-belle.nl/)?

I believe this may also solve the replication partner issue.

[Samba] Error Removing Samba Server from Domain

Hai, 
 
I think your hitting a bug at the moment but since i've seen a lot of bugs,
that are fixed, i lots the overview a bit.
 
So you started with a stretch ssamba 4.2 which is now 4.5.16., thats fine and
then its pretty simple.
 
Make sure you smb.conf is cleanup and compliant with the samba version you want
to run.
So check this in advance. I try to keep all my packages compatible with
debian/ubuntu official packages.
And backup /var/lib/samba and /var/cache/samba 
 
Once thats done, you "should" be able to upgrade from 4.5 to 4.10 in
one go, but i dont advice it.
I suggest, upgrade to 4.8 then 4.9 then 4.10. 
apt -y update && apt dist-upgrade --autoremove


Just have a look at : http://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/Upgrade-info.txt
<http://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/Upgrade-info.txt
Most things you need/want to know is in there. Most important, review the
smb.conf changes for every step you are going to to.
so this means, review for upgrade step 1) from 4.5 to 4.8 
These steps in that Upgrade-info.txt file. 
4.5.x => 4.6.0 : smb.conf changes 
4.6.x => 4.7.0 : smb.conf changes
4.7.x => 4.8.0 : smb.conf changes

If the smb.conf is correct, upgrading is a breeze.. That simple.

	Since my Windows server is 2008 and was having trouble joining the Samba 4.10
on domain , I chose to install Samba from the very old Debian 9 repository
(apt-get).
	
	Now that Samba is in the domain I want to upgrade to 4.10.
	
	Is there a problem updating Debian 4-5-16 from the Van Belle repository
(http://apt.van-belle.nl/)?
	
	I believe this may also solve the replication partner issue.
