/usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf # Global parameters [global] netbios name = UBUNTU realm = MYDOMAIN.IO workgroup = MYDOMAIN dns forwarder = 8.8.8.8 allow dns updates = nonsecure and secure server role = active directory domain controller [netlogon] path = /usr/local/samba/var/locks/sysvol/mydomain.io/scripts read only = No [sysvol] path = /usr/local/samba/var/locks/sysvol read only = No ---- I am using samba internal DNS. One hint, I changed nothing on server today. My command line is working fine, I can add DNS records through command, also users are authenticate using AD account. I only tried to join ubuntu 16 to AD with PBIS. used domainjoin-cli query and domainjoin-cli join commands on client machine. I tried it lot of times with administrator password (On client).
