Hello everyone, so no one has any idea what causes this problem? :-( Nils Von: Nils Wieseloh via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> An: Brian Cowan <brian.cowan at hcl.com>, Kopie: "samba at lists.samba.org" <samba at lists.samba.org>, samba <samba-bounces at lists.samba.org> Datum: 28.07.2017 08:44 Betreff: [Samba] Antwort: Re: Windows 10 and Java Applications on a samba share Gesendet von: "samba" <samba-bounces at lists.samba.org> Hi Brian, one more information. There may be classloader behavior interactions. Is this limited to Windows 10, or can you see it in 8/8.1? How is the Java application packaged? Is it everything-in-a-single-JAR (which incidentally makes java 8 bog down) or are there multiple JARs? Is there any pattern to which functions do, and do not work? How does loading off a remote pure-Windows share work? After opening any java-application, which is located on a samba share (tested with version 4.4 and 4.6) and keep the application open for some hours, the application works not correctly anymore. Only some functions react. This happens with every java-application we tested so far. Does anyone have this problem too or does anyone have any suggestions what this could be? I am looking forward to get some replies. So if it happens on Samba AND Windows, you could be looking at it from the wrong end, it could be a windows client problem. Personally, I think anybody who runs a java application in a long running way, is one brick short of a full load ;-) I used to work at a place that used java in a parts look up system, after every windows update that included java, I had to go around and back out the java update because it broke the parts look up system. Hi Rowland, This behaviour also happens on a WIndows 2012 R2 Server System. => I wanted to say, that this behaviour happens, if I open the java program on the samba share with a WIndows 2012 R2 system.
