I have samba joined to domain an all ad users can access shares from windows clients . I created ad user for kodi and have Domain;username:password and shares are not accessible to kodi. What I am missing. check_ntlm_password: Checking password for unmapped user [WORKGROUP]\[firetv]@[LOCALHOST] with the new password interface [2016/10/12 06:55:40.254367, 3] ../source3/auth/auth.c:181(auth_check_ntlm_password) check_ntlm_password: mapped user is: [HEBE]\[firetv]@[LOCALHOST] [2016/10/12 06:55:40.255567, 2] ../source3/auth/auth.c:315(auth_check_ntlm_password) check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [firetv] -> [firetv] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER [2016/10/12 06:55:40.255607, 2] ../auth/gensec/spnego.c:716(gensec_spnego_server_negTokenTarg) SPNEGO login failed: NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER [2016/10/12 06:55:40.255662, 3] ../source3/smbd/error.c:82(error_packet_set) NT error packet at ../source3/smbd/sesssetup.c(277) cmd=115 (SMBsesssetupX) NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE [2016/10/12 06:55:40.256803, 3] ../source3/smbd/process.c:1957(process_smb) Transaction 3 of length 92 (0 toread) [2016/10/12 06:55:40.256842, 3] ../source3/smbd/process.c:1538(switch_message) switch message SMBsesssetupX (pid 3618) conn 0x0
Hai, How did you setup kodi. Any link i can check. You added the user kodi in the AD also or did you create kodi local. my advice, create the user kodi local, if samba AD isnt working, your kodi wil still run. Did yo use the password.xml in userdata? And did you use the format smb://Domain:User:Pass at servername.domain.tld/share and check if you hosts file is correct. Something like /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain 192.168.0.1 kodi.internal.domain.tld kodi.local kodi Greetz, Louis> -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens jacek burghardt > via samba > Verzonden: woensdag 12 oktober 2016 15:41 > Aan: sambalist > Onderwerp: [Samba] kodi cant access samba shares > > I have samba joined to domain an all ad users can access shares from > windows clients . If you run 'getent passwd <username>', do you get any output ? Also, ntlm_auth is turned off by default in Samba 4.5.0, I don't know if this is the version you are using, you have never said. Rowland
Hai Rowland, Good catch.. ;-) (the ntlm settings) But first this must be correct. [HEBE]\[firetv]@[LOCALHOST] ^^^^^^^^ The user that connect is called firetv? Not kodi? And what i forgot also, kodi uses NMBD a lot, and Samba AD does not use MBD. So if you need to "Browse the netwerk" setup zeroconf/Avahi also or drop samba AD and use old style setup. see kodi wiki.
