It's not hidden like an hidden file or system file (things you can display tweaking some explorer options), it's not visible at all. I think there is no way to list them, it's not hidden, it's unlisted, but you still can access them if you know the full path. 2016-06-28 13:10 GMT+02:00 Reindl Harald <h.reindl at thelounge.net>:> > > Am 28.06.2016 um 09:53 schrieb tell at posteo.de: > >> the parameter "browsable (browseable)" is a Boolean which allows a share >> to be displayed (or not) in list of machine resources. >> >> But if I set the parameter to "no" - how exactly does it hide the share? >> I could not find a clue about the way of achieving that. >> > > the share is not listed - or what is your question at all? > > > -- > To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the > instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba >-- Thomas DEBESSE

2016-06-28 13:33 GMT+02:00 Reindl Harald <h.reindl at thelounge.net>:> exactly what i said - so why the need to hit reply-all and convert aplain-text message to HTML? I replied because of: « or what is your question at all? » meaning you're not sure to understand his question, meaning you're not sure your own answer will be the one expected by Tom. Perhaps Tom was thinking about hidden share like hidden file instead of unlisted share, because he used the "hide" verb and you used the "list" verb. So, perhaps Tom did not have the key to understand your answer if he was fooled by this confusion. My message was just a careful disambiguation message to make your own answer easier to understand. You were the first to not be sure if your answer was the one expected or if your answer was understandable. I hit reply-all to be sure the disambiguation is archived for future search from other people preventing them to reask it. Sorry for the HTML. I will not add more comment to this thread. -- Thomas DEBESSE
