Hai Rene,
?
There are not stupid questions, only stupid answeres..? ;-)
and i have a lot of stalkers, but i'll try to help out.
?
You need to set : "Always wait for netword at computer startup and
logon"
found here :? Computer Configuration ?
this policy works also for Win7 and 8.
?
some extra things you can do :?
- disable powermanagement on your network interface.
-?disable the mediasense on your nic. :?
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/239924?
- Slow down processing on startup.
Policy Location: Computer Configuration > Policies > Admin Templates >
System > Group Policy
Setting Name: Startup policy processing wait time
?
for xp with wireless cards,
Windows XP Control Wireless Clients were requring two logons to get mapped
drives
see :? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305293
?
also ( XP bug, which wil nog be fixed. "
When a client computer tries to wake from a low power state, mapped drives are
not re-connected or do not display.
a few workarounds.
Wake client systems up prior to users arriving in the office.? :-)
For Cisco switch-based networks, enable PortFast for computer switch ports.
?
wel, good luck with above..? this wil keep you going..
?
1 more thing.
?
try the following.
?
ping DC_HOSTNAME
ipconfig /flushdns
ping DC_HOSTNAME.domain.tld.
?
Do the both work, if not, you can also create a policy the adds the domainname
to the computer.

Hai,
?
/ computer configuration /administrative template/network / network connections
?
this policy makes sure you can only login on the computer, AFTER the network
initialization of the pc is fully completed.

first of all thanks a lot for your constant replies ... im new with samba as you
already find out ... i did some other experiments
?
1- i went to a XP computer and logged as a domain user ... it does not apply the
policy like i told you before then i ran gpresult /V the reply was
?
"the user xxxx does not have RSOP data" ..
?
2- in your last messages you told me to go to ... my policy / computer
configuration /administrative template/network / network connections ... sorry i
didnt understand what to do there ... my policy has only one feature configured
and its in the user configuration ...
?
please care to explain ... as you see im a noob .... thanks
