samba - Feb 2015 - Volume shadow copies with samba

I took a look at this:

Do I miss sth. or how works the version integration? Where is the bridge to
vfs_shadow_copy(2)?

With Samba 4.2, the Snapper module is included. Might just be what you're
looking for.
