I am having a problem with accessing a Samba share from a Windows 7 system. I
think I have the Samba system configured correctly because I can join the
Domain.
root at ubuntu-server:/home/daved/AddToDCScripts# net rpc join -U Administrator
Enter Administrator's password:
Joined domain DEMLAND.
I can use the smbclient to access the domain controller without a problem:
root at ubuntu-server:/home/daved# smbclient \\\\192.168.42.5\\C$ -U
Administrator
Enter Administrator's password:
Domain=[DEMLAND] OS=[Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 7601 Service Pack 1]
Server=[Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 6.1]

I see that I have the user and groups being accessed:

Yet I cannot access the shared folder on my Linux system. The smbclinet does:
root at ubuntu-server:/home/daved/AddToDCScripts# smbclient
/192.168.42.163/home/public -U daved
Enter daved's password:
Connection to 92.168.42.163 failed (Error NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT)
When I try to access the share from the Windows 7 I just keep getting prompted
for a user name and password. What am I missing?
Thank You,
David Demland
