I am attempting to join a new samba server to Active Directory. The join is successful but I am getting a kerberos_kinit_password failed error message. The following is cut-&-paste of the end section of the screen out from the join attempt. Using short domain name -- domain Joined 'EXPRESS' to realm 'mydomain.x.CA' [2011/07/19 11:51:07.978076, 0] libads/kerberos.c:333() kerberos_kinit_password server at mydomain.x.CA failed: Client not found in Kerberos database [2011/07/19 11:51:07.979142, 2] lib/interface.c:478() interpret_interface: Adding interface x.x.x.x/255.255.255.0 [2011/07/19 11:51:07.979366, 2] lib/interface.c:340() added interface 134.117.10.126/ ip=x.x.x.x bcast=x.x.x.255 netmask=255.255.255.0 [2011/07/19 11:51:07.981006, 4] libads/dns.c:621() ads_dns_lookup_ns: 3 records returned in the answer section. DNS update failed! [2011/07/19 11:54:19.023756, 2] utils/net.c:916() return code = 0 I have checked the krb5.conf file and it is the same as I am using with other servers in the domain. Samba version: 3.5.5 Any suggestions on how to get over this hurdle would be very much appreciated. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daulton Theodore Carleton University Library, Systems Department Vmail: (613) 520-2600, ext. 8352
