> Betreff: Browsing problem
Hello,
I have the same problem like descibed in the "Samba Troubleshooting Guide
Version 2.0.7" from Paul Green.
The HOST machine shows up in the browse list but its shares cannot be listed by
the Windows Explorer nor by the DOS command "net view \\host,
and I have done, what in the article is described.
I am not good in english, and I am not sure what is meant with the right NETBIOS
name (fully-qualified domain name). Perhaps I have made there a mistake. I have
written the same name in the lmhosts-File like the netbios name in the smb.conf.
When I do what in the article above is described (nbtstat -A ipadress), then I
get the netbios names. Afterwards
the shares could be browsed. But it works very slowly. What is that?
The samba is installed on a SCO Unix machine (OS 5.0.5) and was on a CD form
esker.com. There are only the smbd, nmbd, smb.conf, start and stop files. Smbd
and nmbd are from april 1998. In the smb.conf is written from version 1.3.
I have WIN2000, WIN98,Workstations.
Could you help me?
Thank you.
