[Samba] Winbind Error "could not find any domain controllers for domain"
This is related to me previous question of "could not check secret" results. According to winbind, it contacts my DC, gets a positive name query, and then tryes to send a packet to an IP address that hasn't been around for years, then says "could not find any domain controllers". And loops like that. I've tried manually setting the domain controller in the smb.conf, but no good. Any ideas? Places to look? I've looked through the WINS database and that address is nowhere to be found. Nope. I DID add the old address it was trying to the DC as a secondary IP, but I don't see any change in samba, still says "no domain controllers found" -----Original Message----- From: Ahmad Yahya [mailto:getlucky@telkom.net] Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 9:18 PM To: samba@lists.samba.org; Blanchard, Michael Subject: Re: [Samba] Winbind Error "could not find any domain controllers for domain" MessageDo you use IP aliasing or something like? [Samba] Winbind Error "could not find any domain controllers for domain"
Michael, is there any chance that you have multiple ip addresses or interfaces configured on your samba server, and samba is picking up a different ip addr to bind to than the one you expect? Perhaps you could try adding into your smb.conf global section the following lines (as a test) interfaces=<YOUR samba machine ip address/subnetmask> bind interfaces only=yes Just a thought...
