samba - Jan 2002 - how can i reinstall winbind

My 2.2.2 samba server is not functioning properly at all.  I am not sure how to
describe the issue at this time.  I just want to knwo how i can wipe samba and
winbind completely and reinstall.  I have tried totally removing the
/usr/local/samba/ dir and the /tmp/.winbindd dir, but something isnt working
correctly when i reinstall samba.

Where is all the winbind info kept?  All teh mappings and whatnot?  I need to
remove these entirely and have them recreated when users first log on through
winbind?  How can i accomplish this?
