Hello, I want to put multiple IP-addresses on a unique interface in my machine. After that I want to put multiple samba servers. Can I do that and how to do that ? Thanks for all !
could someone help me out here, I know there is an easy solution.. but I can't find it. Here's my set up.. SuSE 7.3 with Samba 2.2.2 ( I unloaded the OS installed 2.2.1a) my smb.conf <- simple.. I just wanted to get it working.. then I'll work on setting it up as a PDC # Global parameters [global] encrypt passwords = Yes log file = /var/log/samba/smaba.log <-- i am not getting a log file also..?? [homes] read only = No if I remove the encrypt password or set it to no, then I can connect from any linux computer with smbclient //computername/username if i set encrypt password to yes.. then I get the fallowing error.. session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pari in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) if i try from win2k, i get incorrect password or unknown username So I assumed that I did not have any encrypted passwords.... so fallowing the ...../doc/htmldocs/ENCRPYPTION.html file I tried the fallowing... ---- To generate the smbpasswd file from your /etc/passwd file use the following command : $ cat /etc/passwd | mksmbpasswd.sh > /usr/local/samba/private/smbpasswd ---- My system cant find the mksmbpasswd.sh file anywhere... it should be in /usr/local/samba/private but it's not their... Any help would be greatly appreciated
