2.2.2-5 (for Debian) INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11
Hello, Attached is a log file from smbd running on a linux PC (2.2.18pre23 SMP). The box was recently moved from Tokyo to Hong Kong, and is consequently set up using a new IP address hostname and DNS server -- though that's pretty much all I can think of that has changed, and before I think it was working OK. smbd now panics when running 'smbclient -L <server>' from any remote machine (various versions of smbclient all cause the same problem) though running that command on the local box seems to work OK. testparm is fine, the linux server's IP setup looks functional, though the corporate networks are quite convoluted, so I wouldn't be surprised if any DNS requests were going astray or failing -- nonetheless I guess that shouldn't cause a segfault in smbd. Hope the log is of some use - happy to debug further as required. Thanks Anthony (See attached file: smbd-log.gz) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... There was a bug in Debian's initial packaging of 2.2.2 which has since been fixed. chau, jerry --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hewlett-Packard http://www.hp.com SAMBA Team http://www.samba.org -- http://www.plainjoe.org "Sam's Teach Yourself Samba in 24 Hours" 2ed.
