Hi folks, I'm trying to install a pre-compiled version of Samba 2.2.2 on Solaris 7. For the most part, Samba appears to work except I got 2 errors: - Whenever Windows 9?/2K users access any of the shares, I get this message in the samba log: [2001/12/21 15:09:25, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(342) tdb(/usr/local/admin/samba-2.2.2/private/secrets.tdb): tdb_reopen: failed to obtain active lock The secrets.tdb file doesn't exist anywhere. Windows users seems to be unaffected by this error, not sure what's going on here? - When running one of the tests suggested in DIAGNOSIS.txt file, I'm getting Bad password error. $ ./smbclient //amazon/desmond -s ../lib/smb.conf added interface ip=10.3.10.17 bcast=10.3.255.255 nmask=255.255.0.0 Password: Anonymous login successful Domain=[JNI] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.2.2] tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) Not sure what I missed, but any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Desmond -- JNI Corporation - Fremont R & D 45365 Northport Loop West. Fremont, CA 94538 Tel: (510) 360-4751 Fax: (510) 252-0123
