Excuse me but i re-post my question, please someone help me ? I have a little problem with samba. I use samba 2.0.3 on a linux 2.0.38 system. I want do a netbios connexion between my linux system with the smbclient command and a share on a windows 3.11 system. I make correctly the connexion with smbclient, and when type ls or dir, smbclient respond with Error: Looping in FIND_NEXT?? What the problem, which parameter to set in configuration of smb.conf to do resolve the problem. The mget command do the same thing, but when i use the command get [file.txt] the command do normaly. Why ? thanks for your help ! :3) __________________________________________________ Voila vous propose une boite aux lettres gratuite sur Voila Mail: http://mail.voila.fr

I know someone has reported that he could not get any smbclient 2.0.x to connect to some old server. Only 1.9.<latest> would work. Perhaps you should try that?> What the problem, which parameter to set in configuration of smb.conf > to do resolve the problem. It's almost certainly a bug (server or client) and not a configuration problem.> The mget command do the same thing, but when i use the command > get [file.txt] the command do normaly. Why ?'mget *' needs to read the list of files to know what to download. Since listing the dir doesn't work it fails. get xyz knows what to download and is thus not affected by that bug. /Urban
Hello,
I just install the lastest release of samba 2.0.7 and i try the
connection.
I have the same problem with more details
smb: \> dir
Error: Looping in FIND_NEXT??
ERRSRV - ERRerror (Non-specific error code.) listing \*
64439 blocks of size 32768. 61151 blocks available
Any suggestions, it's really a bug of smbclient ?
I test the connection with a win 98 and i don't have any problem with
it. I think is suprising this do normally with win98 and cause problem
for smbclient.
