I have check my encryption settings and yet I am still getting the IPC$ access error asking for a password which is always "incorrect" even though I am have tried every password I know. Questions== Is their another reason for the IPC$ errors that I am unaware of? Question == Where is IPC share located what is it? Thanks one and all Ian R. Collins
Try running the program testparm to check out your smb.conf file. You will notice the correct parameter should be "encrypt passwords" On the IPC$ access, once you get the parameter named correctly make sure you have a correct guest account setup as that is typically what is used for access by clients to this share. Ian, Check you smb.conf file; the proper parameter name is "encrypt passwords yes" or "no".... see if you have it spelled encrypt password (single) instead...
