I have just installed samba. All tests work great except when I try to double click on the linux machine in Network Neighborhood (on my windows machine) I get a password prompt and no matter what password I put in I can't get in. I have logged onto the windows machine with same username and password that I'm logged onto the linux machine. I also ran smbpasswd and created the exact same Username and password. I'm stumped. Be sure that the user ids match in the smbpasswd and passwd files. -ryu On Thu, 26 Oct 2000, John Tracey wrote:> I have just installed samba. Windows98 uses encrypted passwords by default. Tazio
