samba - Oct 2000 - Intermittent connection to server.

I am experiencing intermittent connection problem to my samba server from pc
clients. It's been working fine for months but now seems to have difficulty
resolving the machine name though generally has no difficulty in connecting via
the IP address. I have been through the samba diagnostics and all appears to be
working fine. I am running samba on AIX 4.3 using samba version 1.9. Any
suggestions would be gratefully received. Will summarise.

Try your DNS config.  Specifically, the reverse lookup of the clients must
resolve correctly.
