Hi- We've had a stay of execution until tommorrow - Friday (opps - today!)- when a final decision will be made whether to convert our VERY stable RedHat file server to Windows 2000 Server. I've now managed to join the domain! I had to put a different entry in the host file for the pdc - it has a dual ip address. But I now can't see the Linux server in Network Neighbourhood on the pdc, but can in the Directory. How do I get the Linux server to actually logon to the Domain and be seen in Network Neighbourhood? Do I need a user account? So far the Linux server is registered in the domain, but not accessable by it. I can't map drives or anything yet - I get a message saying that a path to the computer cannot be found. Win 2000 is running in mixed mode, Linux is running Samba 2.0.7. I need this info quickly so can any response be mailed direct to me for speed's sake at: matthewh@fesa.co.uk Thanks Matt / Unless otherwise agreed expressly in writing by Fesa UK Limited, this communication should be treated as confidential and the information contained therein may not be used or disclosed except for the purpose for which it was sent.
