FYI, I found the problem with my non-super user creating files owned by
"root": the non-super user name was in the "admin users"
clause in smb.conf. Should've know better (it's in the man page for
smb.conf). :-(

Hello Samba people,
Since upgrading my PC to NT, I've noticed that the files I create as a
non-super user on my Samba-mounted drives are owned by "root". The
group is correct, and the privileges are what I expect, but the ownership
shouldn't be "root". "root" isn't even an allowed
Samba user. Any ideas?
Using NT 4.0, AIX 4.3.1, Samba 2.0.7
Thx,
