Hi, My Windows users are occasionally unable to log into Samba (2.0.5a-12 on Red Hat 6.2 smp kernel). In there Samba user logs (/var/log), I get the following error (repeated over and over): [2000/09/11 07:09:02, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket_data(570) write_socket_data: write failure. Error = Broken pipe [2000/09/11 07:09:02, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket(596) write_socket: Error writing 4 bytes to socket 6: ERRNO Broken pipe [2000/09/11 07:09:02, 0] lib/util_sock.c:send_smb(784) Error writing 4 bytes to client. -1. Exiting Does anyone have any idea what a "Broken pipe" is and what causes it? Many thanks, --Tony aewell@gbis.com p. s. I am deliberately not upgrading to 2.0.7, as it causes my smp kernel to crash on a daily basis
