> Our site has a RH 6.1 linux box running Samba 2.0.6. It functions quite
well
I was using 2.0.6 with FreeBSD with Win2K Pro with no problems until today.
Domain authentications no longer work, giving me the following errors
in the log.<workstation> file:
[2000/03/06 10:17:02, 0]
libsmb/clientgen.c:attempt_netbios_session_request(3258)
[2000/03/06 10:17:02, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(40)
==============================================================[2000/03/06
10:17:02, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(41)
INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 2485 (2.0.6)
Please read the file BUGS.txt in the distribution
[2000/03/06 10:17:02, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(43)
==============================================================[2000/03/06
10:17:02, 0] lib/util.c:smb_panic(2456)
PANIC: internal error
and the connection fails. This also occurs with NT4 systems.
This occurs on both a FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE and 3.4-STABLE system.
I have level 3 log/debug set on, if anyone wants that.
2.0.6 is taken from the FreeBSD ports collection and is current as of
3/6/00 with the -stable tree.
I removed and re-installed 2.0.6; on both systems the attempt to create
a domain membership failed with a segmentation fault;
the <domain>.<server>.mac and MACHINE.SID files were created. This
did
not solve the domain authentication problem.
I dropped back to "user" authentication, and that's working fine.
There was a change in PDC hardware last week, which is on strong candidate
for the problem; however, the other 3 domain controllers have not changed
and when rebuilding samba I pointed to the new PDC.
