samba - Oct 1999 - Windows 98 and passwords

Hi.
I'm trying to make Windows98 accept plaintext passwords, but I still
can't
do it.
I've already read the file with samba, but it doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?

Have you:
1) applied the reg file you find in the samba docs to the win98 registry
2) rebooted the win98 pc
