We just installed samba 2.0.3 and configured with swat. It seems great, but after try to use smbpasswd we get the following error: inis-11# smbpasswd -a frank New SMB password: Retype new SMB password: make_smb_from_nisp: NIS+ lookup failure: Error in accessing NIS+ cold start file... is NIS+ installed? Segmentation Fault (core dumped) inis-11# This machine did not run NIS nor NIS+! It's an Ultra-Sparc1 running Solaris 2.6. Any hints? BTW: Is it possible to use only /etc/passwd on a samba-machine and can this samba-machine be the authentication-server? Sounds like what I got when I tried configure --with-nis and didn't have nis correct on my box: did you compile yourself or get a precompiled binary? --dave -- David Collier-Brown, | Always do right.
