samba - Mar 1999 - hiding dot files

I placed the line "hide dot files = yes" in both the global and the
homes
section of smb.conf yet my users can still see the .xdefaults and other
files beginning with "." through windows explorer.  Is there a
different
place that I need to load that parameter?  I also rebooted the linux machine
after making the change.

'hit dot files' default to yes and only sets the files as 
hidden but still accessible.  Read the entry for 
'veto files' in the smb.conf man page. Should be what 
you're looking for.
