Greetings, I saw several other questions similar to mine posted in the archives, however there were no answers and I just got on the list, so please excuse the redundency if this problem has been answered. I installed 2.0.0 on my FreeBSD-3.0 system without any problems, but when I run: smbclient -L localhost I am prompted for a password. If I simply hit return the command completes without any problems. If I do provide a password I get an error message like the one I get with the command: smbclient '\\localhost\root' (or any variation there of) also prompts me for a password, but when I supply the correct password (or simply hit enter) I get the following error: session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) I also cannot connect with swat, even with the -a option. I have tried: security=shared security=user and nothing at all in my smb.conf file. Any suggestions? Thank you, Matthew Hagerty matthew@wolfepub.com
