I'm interested in using Samba on a linux boot floppy to export a filesystem to be backed up over the network. My windows backup software uses the dos archive bit on the files, and Samba can map this to the execute bit on native filesystems. However, the linux msdos filesystem driver doesn't have a similar mode, although some of the functionality is present in the `showexec' option. Has anyone got a patch to make linux read the archive bit? Or a better way of doing what I want to?
