Sorry for the multiple questions. Noticed this in my log files also: Most of the time when a service is disconnected, I get: [1998/12/17 06:33:28, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(510) ost15 (0.0.0.0) closed connection to service virus [1998/12/17 06:33:28, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(510) ost15 (0.0.0.0) closed connection to service tmobley I can recreate this one pretty easily. I can go to the samba server (RedHat 5.2 Linux Samba version 2.0.0Beta4) and type: smbclient //gate/virus Added interface ip=192.168.1.1 bcast=192.168.255.255 nmask=255.255.0.0 Password: <password here> Domain=[REID] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.0beta4] smb: \> quit When I look at the log for the machine gate, I get: [1998/12/18 08:38:03, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(484) gate (192.168.1.1) connect to service virus as user btenison (uid=500, gid=100) (pid 2 3251) [1998/12/18 08:38:17, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(510) gate (0.0.0.0) closed connection to service virus Not a major problem, but a curious one...
