Hi All, I have taken over a network with samba 1.9.17 running on some old suns. What I'd like to have happen is for people to be able to have access to unix shares based on their unix account group membership (which I know how to do thanks to the FAQ) and for them not to be prompted for an account and password when they connect (like connecting to a NT share) The first part is easy, but I don't know how to achieve the second part. The previous admin used /etc/hosts.equiv, and the related smb.conf entry to get rid of all login validation. I'm not keen on that, and I don't think that it should be necessary. Also, do I still have to set NT to use plain text passwords? TIA, Peter
