samba - Oct 1998 - SUMMARY: Network is Busy ...

thanks to michael joyner who pointed me in the right direction.

seems i was pointing to an faulty DNS server in my '/etc/resolv.conf'
file.  i
commented out the bad entry, rebooted, and everything is working fine now.
