How about allowing %h to be used as a value in 'netbios name'? We have two instances of Samba running on a Sun server (one on the primary interface and the second on the same interface using IP aliasing). We do this to have 'security = user' and 'security = share' on the same samba servers. As nmbd runs twice, it tries to register the same netbios name twice, which gives errors. So, I'd do: netbios name = %h for one smb.conf and netbios name = %h-v1 for the second. -- albert chin (china@pprd.abbott.com)
