samba - Jan 1998 - vanishing links

I have installed samba 1.9.17p4 on an Ultra 1 with Solaris 2.5.1 and
something strange is happening. From time to time a link from a share
disappears!. Nobody is deleting the link, and this vanishing appears to
be when the application on the PC client hangs up and the client machine

is rebooted; but this isn't always but from time to time. Any ideas?

Have anyone experienced such a problem with samba?

I've seen the same thing.  I used Netscape composer to update a file and it
actually blows away the link.  I couldn't believe that it created a new file
where the link was and left the source file unchanged......not good.
