Sure. It all depends on what your SYSV printer interface or BSD-style
filters do. I generally set mine to pass DOS/Windows stuff through
untouched since it's supposed to know how to handle printers.
I do use special filters if I know the output is going to be PostScript so
that my filters can clean up the Micro$oft mess that they insert into their
PostScript files (ctrl-D characters, queries of printer memory, and
whatever they may think of next to break the standards :-).
