Hello, I have been using SAMBA for a while, to allow me to access my Linux server from my Windows 95 machines. All was working fine until I had to upgrade the hard disk in the Linux box, and while I was there, I put the latest versions of everything on, including SAMBA. I am now using 1.9.17p4. Before I upgraded, all worked fine, but now I am getting 'Invalid Password' messages from the Win95 box. Does anyone know why?? ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/pass word pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) SMBtconX failed. ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) Perhaps you are using the wrong sharename, username or password? Some servers insist that these be in uppercase ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you know what this means, and what is wrong? What is PAM?? Thanks in Advance Ian
I downloaded the tgz file, unpacked it, uncommented the 'Linux, No Shadow Passwords Section' and compiled it. -----Original Message----- From: Simon Hyde [SMTP:shyde@poboxes.com] Sent: 25 November 1997 4:40 PM To: Ian Chilton Subject: Re: Invalid Password Problems On Mon, 24 Nov 1997 12:21:54 -0000, you wrote:>Hello, > >> Can you access the Linux machine using smbclient with a valid username and >> password? >> Are you using PAM?
