Dear All, We have a situation here where systems administrators want the ability to move users between home servers without the users having to change anything. For NFS we use SUN's automounter (and amd) and up to now have been running samba on a machine which gets the data over NFS from the real server. I suspect that this is causing some file locking and reliability problems (forgetting any performance hit from sending data over the net twice). I was hoping that the new automounter support in 1.9.17p2 would solve all my problems - unfortunately I can't figure out how to work it. I am including a debug level 3 log of a connection, where we can see the user (me) being looked up and my correct home server is located. What I could really do with then is for my NT client to be redirected to my share on that home server. Instead, the connection carries on as if nothing happened and I am connected to my home directory on my slave machine using SMB over NFS. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Any clues gratefully received. Thanks, Tim -------------------------------------------- Here are some Makefile settings I am using...
