I''m working on the installer again this weekend. I still haven''t got a complete build yet, but I''m slowly getting closer. I''m currently up to the part where it tries to build the RI database. The build is failing here, but I''m going to quit and look at it tomorrow night. Are the rest of you making any progress? Curt PS I noticed that I''m the only one who has signed up for any of the items on the bug list and feature list. Please take a look at them when you get a chance and sign up for the ones that interest you.

I guess I hadn''t mentioned that to y''all yet. But I''ve been interested in contributing to this for some time, and I''ve known Andy planned to get this up on a sf.net-ish project for a while -- so I''m hopeful I''ll contribute more in the future. Andy just picked a bad time to for me to share the stuff out ;-) -- Chris http://clabs.org/blogki
I am working on the bug submitted by Dan Berger about rb_sys_fail() function. I did not know that I could assign these items to myself (since I was not in the admin list). But I tried and it worked. So I now have two bug reports and 3 feature requests assigned to me. As to my progress, it is very very slow. Hope to work on it this week-end and catch up. -- Shashank ----- Original Message ----- From: "Curt Hibbs" <curt@hibbs.com> To: "RubyInstaller-Devel" <rubyinstaller-devel@rubyforge.org> Sent: Saturday, February 21, 2004 4:14 AM Subject: [Rubyinstaller-devel] How are we doing?> I''m working on the installer again this weekend. > > I still haven''t got a complete build yet, but I''m slowly getting closer.I''m> currently up to the part where it tries to build the RI database. So, this obviously means that you''ve successfully built the installer. I''m keeping a fairly detailed list of the things I had to do to get the rubyinstaller to build, because one of the things I want to do is to write a detailed readme for the build that lists all of the non-automated prerequisite steps, and then cleanup the build process itself to make it more robust. If you kept track of what you had to do get a working build, please send me your notes, and I will incorporate them as well. Thanks, Curt

So I now have a feel for what is going on. I am reading ruby.nis and trying to understand what all goes in there.> keeping a fairly detailed list of the things I had to do to get the > rubyinstaller to build, because one of the things I want to do is to writea> detailed readme for the build that lists all of the non-automated > prerequisite steps, and then cleanup the build process itself to make it > more robust.Fantastic ...> If you kept track of what you had to do get a working build, please sendme> your notes, and I will incorporate them as well.Ok.
