rsync - Sep 2005 - Rsync Open Failure

Attempting to rsync to shaggy but get the following error.  I am VERY
new to Unix world and would appreciate the assistance.

 

bash-2.04$ rsync -e ssh -av /backupCampmor tmercer@shaggy.tpcomm.com:
/timTest

ld.so.1: rsync: fatal: libpopt.so.0: open failed: No such file or
directory

Killed

 /timTest$ bash-2.04$ rsync -e ssh -av /backupCampmor
tmercer@shaggy.tpcomm.com:

bash: bash-2.04$: command not found

ectory.04$ ld.so.1: rsync: fatal: libpopt.so.0: open failed: No such
file or dir

bash: ld.so.1:: command not found

bash-2.04$ Killed

bash: Killed: command not found

bash-2.04$

popt library is missing.
How you install that depends on your distribution.
