Dear Rsync list, I am running an rsync deamon on a linux box "diesel". If I have no firewall (iptables) it works fine. If I have a firewall it doesn't work - just times out. This problem occurs <even> if I open port 873. Any hints? I am sure there is something simple to do here like open another range of ports but I can't find the info. In case I need to open a range of other ports but this is not allowed (by my network at router level) can I restrict rsync to specific ones? Thanks, SA _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! While the daemon protocol does use port 873 (only), a remote shell uses its own port, such as ssh's port 22. ..wayne..
