I've been really happy to see so much good feedback about portability issues recently. I'd like make it easier for people to test pre-release versions: I think our release process is a bit "bumpy" at the moment because some platforms probably aren't tested until we do a release. I know a few people haven't had time to learn CVS, or have firewalls that make it difficult to use. To help them out, I've set up a script to make nightly checkouts of rsync and deposit them in http://ftp.samba.org/ftp/rsync/nightly/ Since they include just whatever happened to be in the source code base at the moment the script runs they're not guaranteed to work, but I suspect with the relatively careful changes we're seeing at the moment the odds are pretty good.
