The greetings say: I am a newbie,
but the question says: I am not.
my suggestion is the apache bible 2.0 available at barnes and noble as
well as ebay. Retail 49.95 ebay used about $26.
I do not KNOW that it has your answer. It does have similar scenarios
with other modules that apache supports and tht one you mentioned
regarding perl, sounds rather familiar. I don''t have one, plan to get
one, and would love to have a page number for you to start looking on. I
am still waiting for my ship to come in.
You might be able to discern some of the particulars via the online
manual that come with apache 2.0, but I have trouble doing that
myself... just setting up a secure area on one node of the document
root, or making a section that is purely ssl... I am just figuring out.
the Apache Bible 2.0, is going to be our best bet.
email me privately when you figure it out.
a very interesting scenario, you have, but I am CONFIDENT that it is
done regularly by the millions of websites that do something like that
every day. .. and that would be item #2 on my suggestion list. Contact a
few other webmasters like yourself and simply ask them if they have any
ideas, or the general principles of how THEY did it on their site.
Ask ten, and three might even mail you back or call you.
If I hear anything... I would certainly pass it on.
good luck.
