Redhat secure server - Oct 2001 - port 80

I"m having the same problem and i using cox. i called cox as well and they
told me that the port was not closed either. I have been trying to fiqure this
out for at least two weeks. Please help me too. I have check every conf file and
everything is in place. I have been told that all http has to be port 80 by
default because that is the standard for browers.I did try to change the port in
the listen and port dir. in the httpd.conf file and it works if you type the
full http://www.yourdomain.com:8080 becauseue the brower has to know that it is
http and it is located at portg 8080. i then check with a sys admin about
redirecting my dns to port 8080 and he stated that i must have  go to working
port 80 first to then have it redirected. I''m stuck and going crazy

As everybody knows, it _should_ work on port 80. Perhaps you already have
something else taking port 80? Gee, I dunno. But maybe these guys can help
you.
