I skimmed some 200 archive messages and did not run across any thing quite like my problem. I have been running an old version of secure server (I think apache-ssl-1.2.6-1) on RedHat 5.2. I''ve loaded a new server with RedHat 6.1 and Secure Server 3.1 I moved the httpsd.key file and the httpsd.crt files over, renamed them to server.key and server.crt and moved them into the appropriate directory, (/etc/httpd/conf/ssl.key/ and ssl.crt/). This is what the book said to do. When I start the server it ask for the pass phrase, I enter the pass phrase and it says it starts, but it actually does not. When I do a restart the shutdown fails and the start appears to work, but again it does not. I watch the server messages during this process and it tells me nothing except start succeeds and shutdown fails. I loaded Secure Server by command: rpm -Uhv secureweb-3.1-1.i386.rpm with no webserver loaded previously. Anyone had similar problems, What have I forgot, missed, or not loaded? Thanks, Matt
