Apache-SSL is free for commercial and noncommerical use as it states near the top of their website at www.apache-ssl.org. Perhaps RH should consider bundling it with their North American distributions. Does anyone know if RH has considered that? Why reinvent the wheel? Why reinvent the wheel? The algorithms employed by SSL are currently under US patent protection, and are owned by RSA Data Security, Inc. This is one of the motivating factors behind the original secure web server product. You cannot use Apache-SSL (legally) in the US in its distributed form. --- Preston Brown Systems Engineer pbrown@redhat.com Red Hat, Inc.

I understand, but what about when the RSA patents expire late next year?
