Actually this did the trick. I had forgotten to restart the httpsd daemon
Ooops :(
Maybe, a procedure like this could be documented in the next versions
manual.
Thanks

I recently upgraded my server to RH6.0 and then received RH''s Secure
Server 2.0 in the mail. Unfortunately, all the packages in SS2.0 are
older than their equivalents in RH6.0 e.g. php, mod_perl etc. The SS2.0
includes an installation script and I don''t think there''s a
"-force" key
for that. I haven''t bothered looking at the cd but I could probably
force the individual rpm packages. Even if there was a force switch for
the script, I would be hesitant to use it until I did my homework
because I am just not that familiar with the linux environment and
dependencies in shared libraries.
I did send Preston Brown a note inquiring about upgrade status of SS:

We will have an update for SWS 2.0 to better work with RH 6.0 this week,
and we have an entirely new SWS coming out soon as well.

Preston,
Can you give us an update. I need to place an order this week
for at least one copy of SWS.

I''m not allowed to give out release date details unfortunately. You
won''t
see it on store shelves for at least a little while.
SWS 2.0 does work OK with RH 6, and I''m sure there will be a cheap
upgrade
path.

Correction: I''m not sure if an upgrade path exists, but I would assume
it
might depending on demand. If you are interested in upgrading, you will
probably have to discuss the matter with sales. Perhaps they may reveal
some plans, if any exist, here in the near future.

I would assume most admins like myself plan to upgrade to RedHat 6.x in the
future, meaning we muct upgrade SWS. Hence demand should be sufficient to
offer an upgrade product I would imagine. If it''s less then $100 US
(that is
the cost of the full existing SWS 2.0, so I would hope an upgrade costs less
=) I''d like to put in a pre-order (i.e. mail me when you got it,
I''ll buy
one for sure).
P.S. why is redhat so awful for getting out security alerts via email,
product info/updates/etc, you guys really need to work on that.
